Suzanne Adams

I grew up as a youth pastor’s kid in Little Rock, AR, participating in Wednesday night programs, children’s choir, GAs, and going to youth camp every summer from the age of 5.  Memorizing God’s Word and living out God’s Word was a big part of my upbringing.

I came to know the Lord at the age of 5 after watching Billy Graham preach on television.  I have felt a burden for the lost from a young age, whether it was for my neighbors across the street or foreign missions in Russia and India.

I entered college believing that I would receive a call to missions.  After a few years, I ended up shifting my major to teaching in order to use that profession for employment and/or potential ministry.  After my parents moved to Georgia, I was able to find a teaching position at a private school my sister was attending.  While taking a master’s course during the summer of 2004 at North Georgia College, I met my husband Nathan in German history class. We were married in October of 2005, joined Helen FBC shortly thereafter, and my life here in North Georgia began.  After teaching at the Catalyst Christian Learning Center here for a year and a half, our first son was born in December of 2007.

Over the past few years of raising a family and homeschooling, God has placed in me a growing desire to invest in the community where He has placed us.  Although I never would have thought that desire would lead me into children’s ministry, I can see God’s hand and timing in how He has brought our family to this moment.

I have been involved in teaching history, English, Bible, and music or raising our four children for almost 20 years now.  I have not been a perfect parent and have made many mistakes.  I do not have it all figured out, nor do I wish to be considered a “professional” Christian parent.  I pray that God will use my passion for discipleship and experiences as a pastor’s kid to encourage Helen FBC to be a place where kids want to be.

  • Faithful leaders coming alongside parents and caregivers to teach the truths of God’s Word and to make disciples.

  • Children recognizing God’s love and joy in a safe environment.

  • Children developing a heart for service and for others.

  • Children experiencing the power of worship.

  • Children knowing Jesus Christ as Savior, Lord, and Friend.

I am so honored to be able to serve the families of Helen FBC.
