Bill Terry cont...

Most notable among those was serving as Youth Director at McCoy Air Force Base in Orlando where I would be introduced to my future wife Margie in 1968. Married in September 1968, our family consists of 2 sons (Bill and Brad) and 4 grandchildren (ages 3 – 18).

In the Spring of 1982, the Lord began a stirring in my heart that would ultimately result in a call and commitment to full-time ministry. The preparation process began in August 1982, with seminary studies at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC.

I have been blessed to serve on church staff at the following churches: Cherryville (NC) First Baptist Church (January 1984 – August 1990); Lilburn (GA) First Baptist Church (August 1990 – July 2005), and; Helen First Baptist Church (August 2005 – present).

My spiritual life verse is Proverbs 19:21 which states “Many plans are in a man’s heart, But the counsel of the Lord will stand.”

My ministry philosophy and commitment is two-fold:

  • Serve as an “Aaron to the Pastor” in support and assistance to enable him to more effectively fulfill his pastoral responsibilities.

  • Utilize my spiritual gift of administration to help the church operate in a manner “worthy unto the Lord”.
